What do the Sea Moss colors mean?
Each color has a slightly different meaning, and even though they all have a good amount of nutrients, some colors have other nutrients that may benefit you more depending on your goals.
Gold Sea Moss: Gold sea moss is a rich source of vitamins (A, B, C, D, E, and K). It contains iron, zinc, magnesium, and sulfur. All these affect how your cells communicate within your body, so you must ensure you have the necessary vitamins. Gold sea moss is ideal for making smoothies, and it's great for prebiotic fiber.
Purple sea moss: Purple sea moss helps neutralize free radicals that cause cell damage. It can also help with decreasing inflammation in the body. It contains a high amount of nutrients.
Green sea moss: Green sea moss has a powerful compound within it that has gained a lot of fame within the health and fitness circles. It has the ability to clean the blood in the body and promote liver health. It's also known for increasing energy levels, helping with weight loss, lowering inflammation, helping the skin heal, and much more. Due to its growth cycles, this sea moss is much rarer.
How to Sea Moss?
You can use sea moss in every meal; it is a flexible add-on or even a drink on the side. There are four steps you can take to ensure you get the most out of your sea moss.
- Wash it: In its raw form, it will be very dry. Wash it in the sink for 3–5 minutes; make sure to change the water before moving on to the second step.
- Soak it: You can also cook it, but soaking it in water for no more than 24 hours will preserve its nutrients. While soaking it in a big pot of water, make sure it is fully submerged during the time. You can also add limes to add extra flavor.
- Blend it: After you are done soaking it, give it a final rinse in clean water and throw it in the blender. The more water you add, the looser the texture it'll have. Blend it until you get your desired texture; add water as needed.
- Store it: After you are done blending it, store it in BPA-free plastic or in a glass container. On average, sea moss can be stored in the fridge for 2–4 weeks.
The next step is to buy some and try it for yourself.
